- Currently Isaac is about 500 miles East of Guadeloupe with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
- Present movement is West at 17 mph and this motion is expected for the next couple of days.
- Isaac has a minimum central pressure of 1006 mb or 29.71 inches. The center of Isaac should move through the central Lesser Antilles Wednesday evening and emerge over the Eastern Caribbean Sea by Thursday morning.
- Additional strengthening is forecast over the next 48 hours. Interests elsewhere in Hispaniola, Cuba and the Southeast U.S. should continue monitoring progress of Isaac.
TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS are in effect for Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe and the surrounding islands, St. Martin, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, Anguilla, Barbuda, Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Maarten.
TROPICAL STORM WATCHES are in effect for British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS are expected to reach the warning areas by Wednesday afternoon.
- Rainfall totals of 4-8 inches are possible over the Northern Windward Islands and the Leeward Islands. Rain amounts of 1-3 inches with maximum amounts of 6 inches are possible over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
- Storm surge will also be an issue for the Northern Leeward Islands and near the coast. Storm surge can raise water levels by as much as 1-3 feet.
