8:00 AM 9/6 (Forecaster Christy) Good Morning Charlotte and Happy Thursday! Only one more day until the weekend! If you're visiting our town for the 2012 Democratic Convention, our local forecast is provided for you below:

TODAY - Do you have your umbrella ready? Because unfortunately, the weather looks a bit dreary once again. Cloudy skies will persist throughout the day with scattered rain and thunderstorms especially during the afternoon! Temperatures will get up to about 86 degrees.

TONIGHT - A few scattered

showers will be around early but for the most part we will just see clouds overnight that will be gradually clearing. Temperatures will get down to right around 70.

FRIDAY - Are you ready for sunshine to return? Well, you're in luck on Friday! We will finally be able to show off the gorgeous Carolina sunshine to everyone visiting for the DNC! We will see a bit of fog around early but the sun should be shining bright for much of the day! And temperatures will be warming back up into the low 90s! What a great way to start the weekend!

Speaking of the weekend, we will see sunshine for both Saturday and Sunday but lookout on Saturday afternoon for a few pop up storms to get in the way of your outdoor activities! Temperatures will also start to cool off on Sunday to highs around 80!

Have a fantastic day Charlotte!

9:00 AM 9/5/12 (Forecaster Christy) Good Morning Charlotte! I hope you didn't put that umbrella away yet! More rain is going to be around today! The current INTELLICAST REGIONAL RADAR for the Southeast area.

TODAY: Foggy conditions early so be careful as you are driving into work and school! We will s

ee cloudy skies throughout the day with scattered showers becoming more widespread in the afternoon. Temperatures will get up to right around 85 once again!

TONIGHT: You'll once again want to find a DNC event that is indoors so you can escape the rain for a little bit! Scattered rainshowers will persist through the overnight as temperatures head down to avout 73 degrees.

LOOKING AHEAD: I think everyone is getting a bit frustrated with the timing of the rain but unfortunately, its going to be around on Thursday as well! We see a few breaks where we just have clouds. Friday, even though a few scattered showers will move through the area, we should be able to catch a glimpse or two of that Carolina sunshine that we all love! And by Friday, temperatures will have warmed back up to right around 90!
