NO SURPRISE IN THE SOUTHEAST - Someone left the heater on full in many states this week, including Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana,Alabama and Georgia. Expect temperatures in the mid 90s in Mississippi and 100s in Arkansas and Louisiana. A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi. Georgia will see another day of showers and thunderstorms in their area.

MAKING HEADWAY IN THE MID-ATLANTIC: Some of the cooler weather is working its way across the Mid-Atlantic. A cold front will push through the region late this week bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area.

STORMS DOWN BY THE RIVER:  Expect some strong to severe thunderstorms in the Upper Mississippi Valley area into the weekend as well. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin and low 90s in Illinois.
