The Energy moves East?

Wednesday, 3/30/2011 11 PM EDT

Rain along the coast and scattered rain and snow inland will continue In the Pacific Northwest for another 36 hours. The precip and winds are moving East, though. Wyoming, for example, has, at one time, Winter Weather Advisories, Winter Storm Watches, Winter Storm Warnings, High Wind Watches, and High Wind warnings.

The Gulf Coast and Tennessee Valley will continue to see heavy rain and thunderstorms across early today from he combination of moist Gulf air and an upper Low. Severe thunderstorms from the Gulf Coast to Georgia and Florida may pop up today. These disturbances storms will move eastward, stretching from Tidewater Virginia to Florida by mid-day.

The northern edge of the rain event will have areas of snow and ice will be possible today. Areas in the higher terrain of the Appalachians will likely see light snow.

Cold air from the north may bring more snowfall to the east of the mountains and as far south as The Potomac this afternoon and evening.

The Low will strengthen as it moves up The Atlantic, wrapping around on the New England coast as a nor’easter. Much of New York and New England are under Winter Weather Statements at this time.

1823 and snowing at a real good clip here in NE Carroll County! Big ole clumpy snowflakes. Little on the grass and even on the warm truck a little. Radar is still indicating rain overhead, echoes must look the same to the computer?

(and yes, I did say my goodbyes to this message board last week for the season, when it looked like no more powderhounding until November, but... )

Heavy snow here. Not sticking to anything, not even grass but it is coming down real heavy. Nice to see!

gah... standing out on the fields for SPRING sports was just not fun today... by the end of practice I couldnt feel my fingers and toes.. combo of rain, sleet, snow... just a mess! If it was pure snow I would have been happy!!

app. a really wet and clumped-up inch worth on the grass now. Still wish I'd cut it shorter last fall, at least in front of the bay window area so it would LOOK like more snow...

Andy, there enough thump to this one to give us much more then what we see? Looks like most of the precip and energy are all to the N and aways off to the SE to me.

Listening to Henry Margusity ramble on this morning about the big snowstorm in the Northeast. "... snowing an inch an hour ... 12 inches or more... " and KNOWING wthat we wouldn't see any of that ... like being stabbed in the heart with an icicle.
Wish I were still at school to see the big clumpy flakes. Jealous AND sad. What a combination.

Snow is sticking well now to deck, cars, and grass. Pict was taken at 8:00 pm. We have a solid blanket approaching an inch.

And apparently Justin Berk said he noticed the same thing re: radar in winter mode can't break out this kind of snow from rain. Interesting.

Got plenty of icicles and a little snow here. Just bring your heart up this way, and we can arrange the stabbing :-D Hey, any snow or flakes this time of year is a bonus! I am ready for warmth, but since it insists on staying cold, let it snow.

Snowed for a few moments in Catonsville. The rain and cold this evening is just raw and seems to settle right in the very core of any old injury. Please bring back the sun and warmer air 8-)

I'll be taking my heart up there tomorrow morning at about 7:00 a.m.
Meet me with an icicle and take your chances. :-P I have the strength of ten men.
