"Amid The Falling Snow"
- Enya
7:50 PM 1/23 - Good evening everybody! This is Forecaster Joe from the FF Northern West Virginia Team reporting in for the Winter Stormcast Team.
Currently we have a LARGE swath of precipitation moving across the Mid-Atlantic region and though this is mainly rain or sleet for most, you should see a switch-over to snow as the night progresses!
As our team indicated in our forecast maps earlier, and posted below, several inches of snow and sleet could accumulate from this storm across the region by the time it finishes passing though tomorrow night. And, if you get the chance, we welcome your storm photos submitted to our Facebook pages anytime! Until there's enough snow to snap a photo, we invite your enjoyment of another favorite Enya tune of the team Powderhounds, "Amid the falling snow."
SURFACE TEMPERATURES AND RADAR AS OF 7:30 PM 1/23

Most appropriate for tonight.
All frozen...slop. Boo.
NAO, where are you! You are blocking worse than the 2013 Ravens O-Line!
Feedback request: With regard to the "dynamite" headline earlier today, we would like to know your thoughts on how you perceived the context of it as compared to how we presented it.
Positive or constructive are both welcome!
Hi. I was slightly confused with the dynamite headline. Mostly because the info following it was hard to easily decipher. Could not tell if West Bmore was gonna get snow bombed or something else. But it was all good. I knew Something bad weather wise was going to happen. I just poured a drinky when I got home and waited for the next post.
Coming in sight unseen, I would have taken the dynamite (or, deeno-min-te as they say in Italian, link to Hookwinked movie clip if I wasn't so tired inserted here) reference to mean something that was an atmospheric bomb e.g., one of the 2010 monsters that "bombed out" pressure wise off the coast, got some blocking and proceeded to bury us.
But that's just me. Been up since 4AM goose hunting, kinda punchy right now...
All rain at 12:45am. Washing the salt off the roads.
I woke up to pouring rain at 5:15 am. Looks like a Nor'easter everywhere north of us. I don't know if we'll see snow later today but temperatures in Catonsville are currently 35. I'm watching the Today show and they're in rain as well. Let's see what Mother Nature gives us next.
In reference to feedback request. I am a loyal follower of FF for winter weather, I stopped going to any other source two years ago. I only post snow totals for Severna Park during events to help give data.
Sometimes the headlines and context leave me wondering what exactly is being predicted and frustrated by having to try and piece things together. I am not fluent with 75% of the terms used and am just looking for the bottom line.
Anyway, I love FF and what you all do...just my .02.
Jane
