Inside The Last Envelope...
COULD BE THE BIGGEST SURPRISE (OR DISAPPOINTMENT) OF ALL.
The last time we saw an arrangement like this was on
Saturday, February 14, 2003. Soon after, two things happened:
1) Some (but not all) forecasters said the storm would stay south of DC, because the High was too strong and would overpower the Low, sending it out to sea; and then...
2) None of that actually came true. BWI airport saw over 2 feet of snow in 3 days.
2003 was a snowy winter with a moderate El Nino, but was not remembered for being intensely cold, until of course, early March.
They say history repeats, but do weather patterns? We will find out soon enough what is in that last envelope, won't we.

Help! I can't sign up for Powderhound Insider. Any hints?
Yes, this may be our last shot and the good news is that we will have a weekend to recover so not lose multiple school days. Well worth watching!
I have faith it did snow on the first day of spring last year so anything is possible.
Models are all over the place on this one. We will need until at least Wednesday to really see what might occur with this very unorganized storm.
Weather Underground is like: Nah.
I'm like: Help me Footsi Wan Kenobi You're my only hope.

Kubota says it's time to switch attachments from snow removal to grass cutting. :)
But Kubota also says it can handle what ever happens. :)
Must stay neutral, must not give in this far out, Must remember just because you are in the bullseye in the GEM now it is likely to change, must focus on the fact that marginal cold is the norm in my area. Aaaahhhhh ok I would really like to have one last decient accumliating snow. OK I said it and everyone knows. Now deep breath and on with life. ;-)
oh yeah - Must us spell check on posts.
Currently looking colder for Wednesday through Friday, however the operative word here is "currently" So lets see what the models show us as we move toward the end of the week. Next week looks great with the return of warm air.
Kubota may be getting my business here, Mike, although ever since I let the John Deere know I may have to let it go at the end of the season, it has been acting great.
Just one more good one. Naysayers be darned. :)
When will this be up dated? It's 3/2 already ~
regularmom,
Go to the Capital Weather Gang on Facebook. They update daily. It's a team of folks associated with the Washington Post, but they cover the whole region including Baltimore. I've given up on FF.
Since I haven't seen any updates, I started getting the boat ready!
Whether we get anything or not, I must say, it is very disappointing there have been no updates to such a provocative headline and lead story.:(
Will be in the 60's next week so I guess it's a waste of time anyway.
Agree with the recent disappointment in this site that previously had been so useful.
Agreed. Not sure why they never updated. Well, if this is their forecast, they probably completely blew it.
Seems like no one is taking your hints, or the bait!
