Just got home from running errands. I was quite surprised to see minimal snow in Odenton and Glen Bernie areas. It was very cold but perhaps too cold and dry for the snow to saturate and come down. As we climber 695 back to Catonsville snow became much heavier and presently is falling at a pretty significant pace. My errands are complete and I am home and warm so whatever needs to come down so be it. But I am hearing bands will stop around 2 pm so only expecting about 2".

Looks like the eastern shore is getting clobbered with up to a foot of snow now expected. It will take awhile for that area to recover, they just are not prepared for those heavy snows.

Roads kinda crumby in northeastern Baltimore. My wife is kinda pissed at me because I just bought a half bushel of oysters. We are not having a party.... It was a good deal

Upper Eastern Shore in Cecil County - Looks like 1-2" here at 5 PM. Roads aren't bad but it's so darn cold (lower 20's) that there are plenty of icy spots around.

Lots of SUVs and 4WD trucks are ending up in ditches. 4WD vehicles today are either terrible on ice or their drivers lack basic winter driving skills. I had a 87 Land Cruiser wagon and it would go through almost anything. On ice, it was really twitchy and would spin like a top if you hit the brakes too hard.

It looks like another winter where it's VERY cold on dry days and warm on precipitation days. Reminds me of 2011-2012 winters. Super cold then balmy and rainy. We had like 1 snow day in both of those winters combined.
